Reservoir engineering

One of the challenges of the oil industry is to have a proper description of the reservoirs present in their fields that will be further developed. JBS offers the characterization of them in such a way to manage these reservoirs and predict their behavior and allow to design optimal schemes of exploitation based in the results obtained.

The characterization methodology is developed in two stages:

Static characterization:

Which includes Petrophysical and geological models, seismic and their integration as static model.

Dynamic characterization

This stage involves reservoir rock-fluid dynamic interaction; allowing to see how fluids move in the porous medium using and interpreting the existing data from the field. Finally, this information is used as the main input for the numerical simulation as further requirement.

Additionally, as part of integrated reservoir studies JBS provides interpretation of geochemical reservoirs analysis focused mainly on the characterization of the source rock, the relationship with the sedimentary environment, the organic composition and degree of diagenetic transformation and maturation.

In case of mature fields JBS offers studies of enhanced recovery processes. Identification of opportunities to maximize the recovery factor models and update existing reservoir models.
